My sons Shane and Zane have Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. It is a genetic X linked disorder that they were born with. It affects all the muscles in their body and is progressive and terminal. Shane is 10 now. He started having trouble walking when he was 5 or so. He started using his wheel chair part time in 2006 and now uses it full time as he is no longer able to walk. Shane loves star wars, computers and playing with his brothers especially giving Zane rides on his power wheelchair. Zane is two and wears tiny leg braces. He has the same prognosis as Shane. He is a smart sweet little boy always smiling and laughing. He loves his brothes and playing with his kitten Rino. Zane loves animals and is very nice a pets them. Zane is a sweetheart.
